Nieuwbouwproject SEM in Hoofddorp is officieel van start gegaan

Construction of the ambitious new-build SEM project in the centre of Hoofddorp has officially started. Located on Nieuweweg, between Kruisweg and Raadhuisplein, SEM will grow into an iconic building that will make an important contribution to the transformation of the city centre.

On Thursday afternoon, 13 March, the start of construction was festively celebrated. KondorWessels Projecten and Boele & van Eesteren, both part of VolkerWessels, together with the municipality and NLV, gave the official starting signal. Under the watchful eye of interested parties and local residents, the first part of the concrete floor was poured, followed by a toast at Cpunt.

SEM in figures:

• 280 homes: 30% social rent, 20% medium rent, 50% free sector
• Sustainable, Paris Proof flats
• A GPR score of 8
• 1,700 m² of green roof gardens
• A lively and green living environment instead of a concrete car park
